PRODUCT INFORMATION
WHAT IS IT?
Our Holdfast Trail Tool Wrap is the ultimate flexible storage solution, designed to flexibly carry your trail essentials on any bike while keeping them clean and giving fast access in trailside emergencies.
Traditional frame wraps move around, scratch your frame, get your tools dirty and take ages to fit and remove.
Our holdfast trail tool wrap is made from a super durable, fully waterproof fabric, with welded seams, to stop your tools being covered in mud or dust - even on the filthiest of rides. There’s even a fully water-sealed internal stash pocket to keep those small parts and valuables safe & dry.
Our unique mounting system separates the wrap from the strap, allowing the strap to be tightly cinched around your frame to create the most grip possible. The tool wrap then attaches separately to the mounting strap, making your tools rapidly accessible when needed.
Once removed and open, the wrap can also be temporarily hung off your bike by sticking it back onto the strap (which is left attached to your frame) giving you quick hands-free trailside access to all of your essential tools.
Our flexible mounting system allows you to mount your strap anywhere, on any bike without the restriction of water bottle or accessory mount locations. This gives you flexibility as to what you want to carry, giving enough room for a tube and a wrap full of trail essentials that can also be thrown in a backpack for bigger days out.
STRAP IT ON
We knew one of the biggest criticisms of existing straps on the market is the lack of grip to the frame - leading them to move around and even scratch your frame. The key problem to solve with our wrap would be to make it grip to your frame stronger than peaty grips a freshly poured pint.
The big step in solving the problem was separating the wrap from the strap. Where existing straps on the market have relatively small contact areas (because the strap is joined to the bag or wrap), separating the strap meant it could be wrapped fully around the frame 360°. Cinched tightly back onto itself with a large sticky rubber pad contacting the frame, we’ve not yet had a wrap move on a ride!
TO TUBE OR NOT TO TUBE?
Having the strap separated from the wrap also means an innertube can be simply slotted underneath the strap before cinching down tight.
This means the tube is still held solid even when the wrap is removed - so you don’t have to remove the tube every time you want to access your tools.
The innertube isn’t an integral part of the system either, like it can be with most frame straps, so if you then need to use the tube in an emergency then the strap simply cinches down to the frame again and everything still works perfectly - with or without a tube.
SIZE MATTERS
By far the biggest challenge we had in designing the wrap was optimising the pocket size. When we made the pocket wider, the wrap started to look like a droopy baguette strapped to the top tube, and was too long to fit in most frame openings. When we made the pocket deeper, it was too easy to over-fill the wrap, which meant it stuck out from the width of the top tube and could rub on your knees.
After a lot of prototyping and testing, we found an ideal width and depth for the wrap pocket which fits a wide combination of trail essentials whilst still rolling up nicely and not being too bulky on the bike.
WHAT CAN IT HOLD?
Just as you wouldn’t expect to fit everything from a 30 Litre rucksack into a 5 Litre enduro bumbag, you need to be equally as selective with what you carry in your holdfast tool wrap. You’ll soon find your ideal setup after a few minutes trying different combinations. Here is some inspiration on what you might carry:
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
- Pack your essential items into the pouch of your wrap. Give the pocket a squeeze to help everything settle into place and make the wrap easier to roll.
- Roll your wrap tightly and check to see it fits in the area of your frame that you’d most like to store it. We suggest underneath the top tube, but you may find a better place for you depending on your particular frame size or suspension layout.
- Clean and dry the area you want to attach the wrap to.
- Take your strap, place the grippy rubber patch onto your frame and feed the strap through the buckle.
- (optional) if you want to carry an innertube, place the folded tube between the strap and frame at this point.
- Pull the strap tight then cinch it back on itself tightly so the velcro sticks to itself. The strap (and tube if added) should now be firmly locked in place around your frame.
- Now, take your wrap and stick it to the underside of the strap.
- Firmly pull the strap around the wrap and stick the strap onto itself to secure everything in place firmly. Now get out and ride!

FAQS
WILL IT FIT MY BIKE?
Yes! This strap is designed to fit pretty much all bike designs with their wide range of linkages and shocks in lots of different places. There are so many different ways you can mount it.
You can mount your wrap on your top tube hanging down, top tube facing up, on your seatpost, around your downtube or on your handlebars just to name a few.
To decide where you want to mount your wrap, you can measure the dimensions of the wrap against your specific bike.
The wrap is approximately 160mm x 60mm depending on how you pack your pouch.
WHAT CAN I FIT INSIDE A HOLDFAST TOOL WRAP?
Just as you wouldn’t expect to fit everything from a 30 litre rucksack into a 5 litre Enduro Bumbag, You need to be equally as selective with what you carry in your HoldFast Tool Wrap. You’ll soon find your ideal setup after a few minutes trying different combinations.
We find a typical combination of essentials we carry to be:
Main Pocket:
1x Holeshot Tyre Plugger
1x Holeshot CO2 inflator head
Either 1x or 2x 25G CO2 cartridges (depending on multi-tool size)
1x Multitool (the smaller the better)
2x tyre levers
Zip Pocket:
Either credit card, some coins or a bank note
Car or house key
Small zipties
Split link(s)
EH, MY PEATY'S PATCH IS UPSIDE DOWN WHEN I WRAP IT AROUND MY FRAME?
Which way around your patch will land will massively depend on how thick your frame is and how much stuff you’ve got in your wrap. If your OCD is kicking in because your badge is landing upside down, you can try positioning your buckle further around your tube when first wrapping your strap onto your frame, this will take up more strap length and should land your strap on the other side of your frame the correct way up.
You say itβs waterproof but there's a big open pocket?
With 100% waterproof fabric and fully welded seams it’s pretty difficult for moisture to get inside the wrap when wrapped tightly and during normal riding but it’s not impossible for stuff to get damp in the wettest of rides, or if you leave your wrap on your bike when you jet wash. This is intentional. We could have easily put a waterproof zip on the top of that big pocket and prevented water ingress (and we did have prototypes which had this) but this also made it take longer to get to your tools when needed, and would have significantly increased the price.
Our key mission with the HoldFast Tool Wrap was to stop your tools getting covered in mud (which can render them useless in a trailside emergency) while also keeping them rapidly accessible when needed.
If your tools do get a bit wet, simply give them a dry off and leave the wrap and zip pocket open and hung upside down overnight to dry.
CAN I MACHINE WASH MY HOLDFAST TOOL WRAP?
The fabrics and welded seams used in the HoldFast Tool Wrap are sensitive to heat so we advise hand washing only. Simply soak your wrap in some liquid washing detergent for a few minutes then scrub, rinse and leave the wrap and zip pocket open and hung upside down overnight to dry.
