PRODUCT INFORMATION

A WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE

Designed for the longest rides in mixed weather conditions. LinkLube Premium All-Weather uses the same scientific approach as our much loved LinkLube All-Weather, but dials the quality of the ingredients up to 11.

With the same chain-cleaning properties as our standard all-weather lube, the milky-white LinkLube Premium penetrates deep inside the chain and replaces moisture, grit & grime with a long-lasting blend of oils, waxes and non toxic nano-particles.

Why 30% Longer?

All-Weather Premium has been ridden over thousands of miles of testing and development over the last couple of years by our motley crew of riders and product testers. Over these miles of real-world testing, they have found that on average it lasted 30% longer in the same conditions as our standard All-Weather LinkLube.

Through the first wave of lockdown, Paralympic gold medalist Steve Bate was using the latest formulation back to back comparing it to our standard LinkLube All-Weather.

During his epic 1,000 mile turbo trainer ride over ten days, the results showed that All Weather Premium lasted a massive 500 miles before wearing out. In comparison, LinkLube All-Weather standard lasted 380 miles in the same controlled conditions showing a 31.5% increase in durability.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Always fully degrease your drivetrain before applying fresh lube. For best results, use Peaty's Drivetrain Degreaser.
  2. Ensure you thoroughly wash your chain with clean water after degreasing (degreaser is designed to eat chain oil after all)
  3. Remove as much water as you can from the chain. For best results, use Peaty's PT17 General Maintenance Spray.
  4. Give the bottle a good shake
  5. Apply the lube while cycling the chain backwards (eBikes will need to be pedalled forwards in a stand) ensuring every link is adequately covered
  6. Keep cycling the chain for 10 seconds or so to help the lube work its way into your chain
  7. Thoroughly wipe away all excess lube from your chain using a clean cloth (excess oil on the outside of the chain will attract dust in dry conditions).

CAUTION
Do not get LinkLube (or any lube for that matter!) on your brakes or brake pads.

FAQS

What type of lubricant is best for bike chains?

The basic requirements for a bicycle chain lubricant is for it to keep your chain quiet and smooth while also lasting a long time and keeping your drivetrain clean as possible. The best type of chain lubricant for a bicycle depends heavily on the weather and conditions you are riding in.

For dry and dusty conditions you need our LinkLube Dry chain lubricant which uses durable waxes for a long lasting smooth drivetrain. It also dries dry to the touch so that dust and dirt won’t stick to the chain.

For mixed and changeable (but not soaking wet) conditions our LinkLube All Weather uses a unique blend of waxes and greases to keep you rolling smooth in a wide variety of riding conditions. For even cleaner, longer-lasting performance try our LinkLube All Weather Premium.

For the wettest, filthiest riding conditions you need a chain lubricant which will not wash away at the first sight of a puddle. Our LinkLube Wet has a heavy dose of waxes and corrosion inhibitors to last even the longest, wettest day in the saddle.

There’s some white stuff settled at the bottom of my bottle of LinkLube Premium. What is this?

The white stuff in LinkLube All Weather Premium is a compound of greases, waxes and a tiny amount of PTFE. The compound doesn’t settle out as easily - but - can still settle a bit if sat for a long time so just shake vigorously to get it back into suspension before applying.

How do you apply lubricant to a bike chain?

Do I need to clean off excess lubricant?

Yes, for All Weather and Wet lubricants, thoroughly wipe away all excess lube from your chain using a clean cloth. Excess oil on the outside of the chain will attract dust in dry conditions.

For dry lubricants you don’t need to wipe away any excess because dry lubricants remain dry to the touch so will not attract dust.

Why do I need to use chain lubricant?

A good chain lubricant will reduce friction between chain and chainrings, improve shifting performance, reduce dirt build-up so make your drivetrain last longer, prevent corrosion, provide smoother, quieter, easier pedalling and either not wash away easily (if wet lubricant) or not attract dust or dirt (if dry lubricant)... In short, yes.

Does the chain lubricant clean my chain?

Our unique two-part All Weather formula penetrates and cleans deep inside your chain, driving out moisture, grit and grime and replacing them with a unique blend of oils and waxes. Yes, you read that correctly! LinkLube All Weather actually cleans your chain as you use it!

When LinkLube All Weather is first applied to a used (but seemingly clean) drivetrain, the chain may go black pretty quick. Uh oh, don’t panic! This is actually the LinkLube All Weather pushing out the grime that has been hiding away inside your rollers. Simply keep degreasing and re-applying and, over a few rides, your chain will eventually run truly clean once again!

Do I need to clean by drivetrain before use?

Yes, we recommend using our Foaming Drivetrain Degreaser to thoroughly clean your chain before application. For new chains with stubborn factory grease we recommend using our XXX Solvent Degreaser.

Can I use this chain lube in dry conditions?

For best results in very dry conditions we recommend Peaty’s LinkLube Dry.

Can I use this chain lube in wet conditions?

For best results in wet conditions we recommend Peaty’s LinkLube Wet.

Do I apply lubricant to my cassette?

You don’t need to apply lubricant to your cassette.
